    Introduction

    Essay on Pollution

Pollution is literally means dirty.  Pollution or environmental pollution is the addition of any substance or any form of energy into the environment and damage the quality of air, water and land, and cause adverse changes. These harmful materials are called pollutants. Pollutions of all kinds have negative effects on environment, human health, and wildlife. According to Pure Earth, which is a non-profit environmental organization, more than 200 million people are affected due to toxic pollution. (Paragraph on Pollution)

Different Types of Pollution and Their Causes

Major forms of pollutions are air pollution, water pollutionnoise pollution and land pollution. The modern world is familiar with some more pollution such as light pollution, plastic pollution, thermal pollution, radioactive pollution etc.

    Water Pollution

70% of our earth is covered with water. Water pollution is the contamination of water bodies by chemical or dangerous foreign substances, chemicals, sewage, pesticides, fertilizers, metals like lead, or mercury and mainly for human activities. As water is known as a “universal solvent”, the Chemicals, pathogens, organic, inorganic and microscopic substances get easily dissolved in water which causes the water pollution.

    Air Pollution

The air is contaminated or polluted by the solid and liquid particles which are called aerosol such as fog, dust, mist. Other air pollutants like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, methane, nitrous oxide, car emissions, smoke and chemicals from the factories, mold spores, pollen, wildfires, volcanic eruption etc. also the causes of air pollution. Ozone gas is one of the main air pollutants, which is the cause for smog in cities.

    Land Pollution

Land pollution is degradation or destruction of the soil due to human activities, deforestation, mining, urbanisation, nuclear waste, industrialization, constructions etc.

    Noise Pollution

Excessive disturbing and unwanted sounds, which reach 85 decibels or higher is called, noise pollution. The main causes of noise pollution are loudspeakers, horns of vehicles, fire crackers, industrial machines, aircraft, constructions etc.

    Effects of Pollution

Pollution is a major global problem. Pollution is the responsible for various diseases and deaths and slowly destroys the whole Eco-system and our environment. Air pollution is the cause of many diseases like respiratory diseases, asthma, lung cancer, heart diseases, stroke etc. The World Health Organization indicated that in March 2019 that around 8.8 million people are died every year due to air pollution. Chemical pollution changes the physical properties of water. These water  can kill the aquatic animals and also destroy the food chain. It is noticed that India and China have high level of water pollution.  Drinking or consuming of polluted water can cause diseases like cholera, typhoid, jaundice, dysentery and many other diseases. About 3575000 people die due to water-borne diseases.

The air pollutants, nitrogen oxide and sulphur dioxide mix with moisture and turn into acid and fall back to the earth as acid rain that damages the crop, buildings, kill the water animal and create thousands “dead lakes” , decrease the soil fertility etc.

Burning fossil fuels and deforestation increase the greenhouse gases, result global warming. Global warming leads the climate change, melting glaciers, severe storms, hot waves, droughts, floods etc. Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) damage the ozone layer which causes skin cancer, eye diseases and other illness of humans.

The Taj Mahal in Agra, India, loses its gleaming whiteness due to pollution. Noise pollution is an invisible danger.

Noise pollution can cause Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL), high blood pressure, stress, heart diseases etc.

    Prevention of Pollution

Prevention is the best solution for pollution. We should use biodegradable things. We should save water and store the rain water. Turn off the tap when brushing teeth, saving or soaping. We should plant more trees. Increase awareness by educating and campaign within community. If we do not take any action against deforestation and do not try to repair the damages that have been caused for more than hundred years, our planet will no longer be habitable. Committing to just a bit of effort can save our earth for our next generation.

    Conclusion

Environmental pollution makes our earth sick and is slowly leading the earth to destruction. If we are not aware from now on, lives will no longer exist on earth. Our awareness and love for nature can make this planet healthy and beautiful.

    Essay on Pollution

    What is Pollution?

Pollution is the contamination of water, air, land and other parts of the environment which are not safe or suitable to use. There are four main types of pollutions, air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution and land pollution. In 2005, 9 million people were died for pollution.

    Causes and Effects of Pollutions

When the water bodies such as rivers, lakes, oceans and also ground water are polluted by harmful materials is called water pollution. To save water we must reducing wastage of water. Drinking or consuming of polluted water can cause diseases like cholera, typhoid, jaundice, dysentery and many other diseases. About 3575000 people die due to water-borne diseases.

Growth of population, urbanization, industrialization, deforestation, vehicular emission etc. make the air polluted which make the cities smoky, dusty, smelly or noisy. About 7 million people die for air pollution every year.

Land pollution or soil pollution is the land contamination, due to dumping garbage, deforestation, improper agriculture waste water harmful chemicals etc

Noise pollution is any unwanted or disturbing sounds. Loud music, traffic, machinery etc. are the causes of noise pollution. . Noise pollution can cause Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL), high blood pressure, stress, heart diseases etc.

    Solutions of Pollution

Pollution is a major threat to the whole world. Pollution is very harmful for our environment and all living beings. If we are not aware from now on, lives will no longer exist on earth. We need to be aware to make the world pollution free.
