Introduction
In India, there are four seasons- summer season, monsoon
season, Winter season and spring season. The two types of winds influences the
season of India- one blows from Arabic sea and the other blows from the Bay of
Bengal.
Winter season is the coldest season of the year which
comes before spring season. Mid- November, after Diwali, to February is the winter season. In
this time the average temperature of the eastern coastal areas is 24°C- 25°C
but the northern plains is 10°C- 15°C. This time the nights are long and the
days are short. The northern part of India especially the higher slopes of
Himalayas experience snowfall.
Natural diversity in the winter season
Winter season has cold weather as the cold wind blows
from the north. This wind is dry because it flows from the land to sea so we
experience dry weather. We also experience clear sky, low humidity, snowfall or
untimely rainfall.
In the morning, dew drops on the grass shine in the
sunlight and are covered with fog all around, also the sun rises late.
Winter affects the habitat of many animals. Some
animals like reptiles and amphibians go to hibernation due to cold weather.
Some birds migrate from cold areas to warmth areas.
During winter season, many trees shade the leaves.
Many flowers blossom in this time like marigold, sunflower, dahlia etc. and we
get many kinds of fruits like grapes, apple, orange and many more. The markets
are full of fresh vegetables like cabbage, cauliflower, carrot, beetroot,
spinach etc.
Impact of Winter season
The winter season is cold and as the sun comes out
late, it becomes difficult to leave the quilt or blanket. So the people enjoy sleeping
late morning. Due to cold, everybody shiver and wear warm woollen clothes.
Nobody wants to peep out. They warmth themselves by drinking hot coffee, tea or
hot chocolates. Some people warm their room by room heater or sitting near the
fire to get warm.
Poor people who live on the pavement and sleep under
the open sky, winter weather is very difficult for them because they do not
have warm clothes or proper shelter to survive the cold night.
In this time many old people suffer joint pain. In
this season many old people die due to heart attack. Winter season makes us
lazy. Less physical activities increase our weight and blood pressure. Dry and
cold wind makes our skin dry and itchy.
Winter Fun
Winter season is the perfect time for enjoying and
celebrating holidays of winter vacation. In India, December and January are the coldest months of
the year so the schools and colleges remain closed. The students eagerly wait
for this season. The people plan to travel to the hill stations with their
family and friends and enjoy skiing, ice-skating, sledding. Kids love to visit
zoos, museums, amusement parks and places of interest in their city. This is
the fantastic time to go for a picnic so the picnic spots are crowed in this time.
The winter
season brings Christmas and New Year festivities so people are in a festive
mood.
Conclusion
Winter season is the time for fun and celebration.
This season brings relief from hot weather. The holidays bring relief from hard
work and work pressure. Winter season comes with holidays, delicious foods,
festivals and happiness so many people like the winter season.
